Update on Solar Victoria Rebate 

Thank you for choosing the National Grid Support Service as your solar retailer. We look forward to completing your installation, however, there is a little more to do before we can put you on the path to energy freedom. 

Solar Victoria has announced that the next instalment of the rebates will open at 9 am on Monday the 2nd of September.

Our aim is to ensure all you are prepared so that you have every opportunity to be accepted for this round of rebates. There are 3,333 spots available and we anticipate this will be fully subscribed quickly. Last month the allocation was exhausted within 90 minutes of opening!


What will be happening on the 2nd of September?


We will submit your quote to Solar Victoria at 9 am. You will receive an email from Solar Victoria shortly after asking you to complete your application.


If you were a part of the rebate process last month, you will not receive a new email from Solar Victoria. Instead, you will use the link from the email issued on August 1st. If you do not have access to this email anymore you can follow this link directly, simply hit apply now to start your application:

How do I secure a rebate? 

In order to secure your place in the queue, you simply need to start your application, once you have found your quote online you have 14 days to submit your application. Watch how to do this: 

  1. Select “Apply Now” from the Home Page of the portal

  2. Enter your email address and phone number and select next

  3. Enter the details of your quote

    • Type in our name as your solar retailer and select from the drop-down
      when it appears: National Grid Support Services

    • Enter your Quote Number

    • Enter your Quote Amount 

    • Select Next to find your quote


Once your quote has been found you have 14 days to complete your application. You may save and exit at this point to complete at another time or you can continue to complete your application. 


National Grid Support Service will issue you with your individual quote number and amount prior to the portal opening. 


How do I complete my application?


You will need to upload documents that prove:


  • Ownership of the property - is less than $3M

  • Your Household Income - is less than $180K per annum

  • Your Identity


Solar Victoria measure Household Income by the name/s that appear on the rates notice. This means that if there is one name only on the rates notice, it will be the income for that person that will be required to be validated.

Have the following documents ready for when the portal opens:


  • Council rates notice 

  • Income verification

  • Identification - passport and license 

For income verification the documents you need to provide will depend on how you receive your income:


  • If employed - Notice Of Assessment for the financial year 2017-2018 or 2018-2019

  • If Pensioner/Centrelink - Centrelink PAYG Payment Summary for the financial year 2018-2019

  • If Self Funded Retiree - Statutory Declaration stating that you are retired and your income for the financial year in actual dollar value including super.

  • If you did not receive taxable income, you will need to provide a statutory declaration stating what your income was (e.g. $0) for the financial year

What happens next? 


When Solar Victoria receives your application, they will assess it and assuming you meet the necessary criteria, you will be issued with an eligibility code. Once we receive this code, we will be able to proceed with booking for your installation.
